My literary weekend isn't over of course. Tomorrow I'll be sharing a stall with other local authors and we will hopefully get a lot of sales, particularly this close to Christmas.

BOOKS 'N STUFF
The Indie Authors' Festival went well today. There were a lot of interesting people talking about different aspects of writing and I met some great people with similar interests to mine. Michael Jacobson from The Gold Coast Bulletin was the chairman for my session and asked some pertinent questions of myself and the other author on my panel, Kathleen Stewart. There was also strong interest in my book The Election.

BOOKS 'N STUFF
I'm excited about next weekend. Saturday is the Indie Authors' Festival at Robina at which I'll be a guest author and Sunday is the Mudgeeraba Street Party. Along with a few friends I will be selling copies of The Election there and of course it will be for sale at the Indie Authors' Festival as well.
I'm just about out of my second print run now on The Election and if all goes well over the weekend I'll have to order more.
The Street Party is looking good. Only the weather can spoil it now.
I'm currently reading The Masada Protocol a self-published novel by American author Lee Broad. So far so good. It's an interesting read particularly as so much is set in Israel, not only an unusual setting for a novel but given my vacation there this year I can visualise a lot of the places mentioned.

BOOKS
I just finished reading Kay Danes' Beneath The Pale Blue Burqa. While I found it an interesting read and certainly thought provoking I didn't enjoy it as much as I did her previous work Standing Ground. That said, she's a remarkable woman and a credit to society.

"THE ELECTION"
I had a great time on 09 August when I gave an author talk on The Election at the Broadbeach Rotary Club meeting. I donated a copy of the book to the cause and it was auctioned there and then, fetching the princely sum of $45. After the meeting I managed to sell 7 more copies which was fantastic.
It's a shame I have no more author talks in my diary - for now - but along with a few other local authors I will be selling copies at an author's stall at the Mudgeeraba Street Party on Sunday 30 October. I'm really looking forward to that.

"THE ELECTION"
I had another successful author talk today at Brisbane Central Library. Although there weren't all that many advance bookings quite a number turned up following some announcements during the morning. Four books sold which was excellent for the numbers present.

"THE ELECTION"
My author talk at the Runaway Bay Library went very well. I made several more sales and the librarian was impressed enough to ask for a lot of cards to pass on to colleagues in other libraries. I've also agreed to give a talk to a book club, two members of which were in attendance.
The next talk will be at 11:00 am on Saturday 16 July at Brisbane Square Library, 266 George Street, Brisbane.
