I have now been working for some time on the plot line, then the script for my first attempt at screenwriting, a movie entitled THE MORNING AFTER.  I submitted the first ten pages to WILDsound in California for some free feedback and the main thrust of what they said was positive with some fantastic ideas to beef things up a bit. I'm excitedly looking forward to tweaking the opening scenes before moving on.

The same ideas are also helpful in my first attempt at writing a new television series which I've entitled THE LITIGATOR.

Agnus Dei is coming along nicely.  Published in electronic form in February 2014 it is about to be published in paperback and distributed throughout Australia, the UK  and the US. It should be in shops just about everywhere during 2015.

Sleeping With Angels, another legal thriller, is going through the editing process right now and should be published electronically in December 2014 or January 2015.

Of the three books contracted to be published by Custom Book Publications that only leaves A Dragon In The Snow which hopefully will come out some time during 2015.

Both headline acts, the Hillbilly Goats and the Viper Creek Band are now confirmed for this year's Mudgeeraba Music Muster to be held on 18th and 19th October.  It is shaping up into quite an event.

Ticket sales for the organising committee's art union to support the event are going well.  The first prize of a trip for two to Nashville and Memphis is proving to be very popular. Only 2000 tickets are being sold so the odds are great.

This week I received my complimentary and half price copies of my latest release Agnus Dei.  The printers have done a good job.

All in all the editing and printing process has turned out well. Let's hope the marketing is also a success.

Yesterday's art union ticket sales at Mudgeeraba Market Shopping Centre far surpassed all earlier sales at that venue. Great work from the team.

Busy weekend coming up.  We'll be selling tickets at the Chamber of Commerce meeting at the Boomerang Farm Golf Course next Friday morning 27 June, then again at Tallai Golf and Country Club Friday evening from about 6:00 pm onwards.  Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th we'll have a presence at the Mudgeeraba Show.

People seemed very interested in the first prize, a trip for two to Nashville and Memphis.

Wow. Five years after publication I've had a marvellous review, albeit oral, of The Election.  Nice to know people are still interested in the story.

Great night last night at the Woodchoppers Inn. We sold oodles of tickets and promoted the Muster itself at the same time. The Woodchoppers have kindly agreed to sell tickets and to match one for one each ticket sold to a customer.

Tickets on sale today from 9:00 am at Mudgeeraba Shopping Centre.

After that we will be selling tickets from about 6:00 pm onwards at the Tallai Golf and Country Club on Friday 27 June.

The team will also have a presence at the Mudgeeraba Show on the weekend of Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th July.

I can shake off everything as I write; my sorrows disappear, my courage is reborn.  Anne Frank.

A rare truism from a teenager.

I've just been doing some surfing on the Internet. My new release Agnus Dei is available from an amazing array of online bookstores around the world.  Here's hoping it is 'discovered' by those looking for a good read.

This year's event will be bigger and better than ever. Already artists are contacting the committee to try to get a spot on the programme.

The art union to raise funds to help support the event is well under way.  Tickets will go rapidly now that we are moving closer to the event.

Our new sponsorship manager is now on board. It's all systems go!

I had a great day at the Gold Coast Writers' Association annual literary lunch on Sunday. It was good to catch up with old friends.  The guest speaker was my friend Kay Danes OAM and  her talk was both informative and entertaining. The Association is lucky to have her as a patron.

Although I still await receipt of hard copies of Agnus Dei I notice that it is available as an iBook from Apple now.

Wednesday, March 12, 2014

My next talk will be held at the Burleigh Heads Library, Fradgley Hall, Burleigh Heads at 10:30 am on Wednesday 19 March.

I will be talking mainly about Calvus but I will also mention The Election and my latest novel Agnus Dei.

Saturday, March 8, 2014

Although the paperback is still not available from Custom Book Publications, Agnus Dei can be purchased in paperback from from Amazon and The Book Depository as a print-on-demand, the the latter case post free from the UK.

Saturday, March 1, 2014

Agnus Dei is now published online and can be purchased from, The Book Depository in the UK and so on.  Still awaiting news of when the paperback will be out.

This will be the event of the year for Mudgeeraba. Last year's inaugural Muster was successful despite it being the organisers' first attempt.  The 2014 Muster will be bigger, better and brighter.

Funding is all important. The more money raised the better quality the artists and of course the proceeds go to helping the Mudgeeraba business community as well as emerging country artists.

My idea for an Art Union has been well received by fellow committee members but we all need to work hard to make it work.

The first prize is a trip for two to Nashville and Memphis, which includes return airfares, accommodation in both centres, coach travel between the two and $AUS1,000 spending money.  It's not to be scoffed at.  The big news is, for a $AUS10 ticket, each ticket holder has a one in two thousand chance of winning first prize. Those who buy a book of five, increase their chances five-fold.

The Chamber's website: has more detail and places where tickets can be purchased.

My next talk is back with Helensvale Library at 11:30 am on Saturday 18 January.  Looking forward to going back there. It's a great venue and my last talk was very well received there.
